In January I will be going overseas (Japan) for 4 to 6 months, recommendations for any fuel additives I should add to my gas while I'm gone and battery tender recommendations? My Trail 125 will be kept in my garage and covered; I live in Hawaii so we have high humidity here, thank you all!

don't really need anything fuel wise. I have 12 bikes, most vintage, and i've never had an issue letting a bike sit for mos in regards to fuel contrary to popular belief. as far as the battery, just use a deltran battery tender. If you are really worried about it, fill the tank and put 1 oz of tcw3 rated 2 stroke oil in it, will keep it fresh for well over a year.

Thanks for the recommendation, its good advice. I was not really sure with the fuel we have now if it would be detrimental sitting for 4 or more months. I will also check if our Honda dealer here (we only have one) has the battery tender. We only have two trail125's here in Honolulu, mine is the second one. This trip to Japan is coming up with very short notice and I don't have much time to prepare things before I go. Thanks again for the sound advice!

Another option on gas is aviation fuel (AV) if you have access to it or, if you have a Sunoco station in Hawaii, see if they can get you a can of leaded 110 octane. They sell it but it’s pricey. The most economical option is what m in sc stated.

as an fyi, i store mine with out of the pump 91 w ethanol. even the 67 kawi with an 20mm carb (ie TINY jets) can sit for 6 mos zero issues. (and its not on premix). just keep it full. half full tanks are the killer. air + condensation = fuzzies. (ethanol or not) but ethanol is worse when exposed to condensation for sure. the oil keeps it from breaking down.

Thanks, sounds like a good option. Work permitting I'll try and scope out Honda shops while in Japan and at the lest get some photos, I'll be on the lookout for trail 125's and Super Cub's! I'll be at the Yokosuka Naval base which is not too far from Toyoko.

No Sunoco stations here, but I think we have a few stations that may sell non-ethanol, or the general aviation airport would have AV gas. Thanks for the advice.
