Hi there fellow trail fans.

As Germany isn’t getting the CT like the rest of Europe I’m thinking about importing one and registering it somehow. With our mess of laws this will probably cost me an arm and a leg. Or won’t be possible at all..

Ive seen that a few were sold in the Netherlands. No idea where they went. Only know of a guy from France who drives around with his CT125 at night without a license plate.

Anyways, nice to meet you.

Welcome Hans. It’s worth a shot at trying to import one. I’d contact Seven Seas in the UK and see if they have a German contact that may help. I lived in Furth/Nurnberg for 3 years back in the ‘80’s. I had a blast.

If you can find one to import I think the rest will be very manageable, though expensive relative to the cost of the bike itself. Germany has some of the most liberal regulations on vehicle import which make it a grey market tunnel to other countries. You'll pay import duty, VAT, and TUV inspection on top of the regular registration.

Good luck with that. The way my mothers home land is going you will have to convert it to electric soon and only ride on odd number days of the month. I probably won't see the rest of the bad things that are going to happen but we in the US will follow if we don't get a handle on the downward slide of our Republic.
That’s what I’m fearing as well. The thing is, there are no decent electrical bikes on the market here.
I’d get something like a Kymco F9 in a heartbeat. Even though it’s a completely different kind of bike.

might want to make a friend in the US military. good luck.

I actually do know someone in the US military. Are there loopholes I should be aware of? haha

Im expecting roughly 2k on top of the bikes price for everything you listed. Would make this a ~7k bike…
There is a new cc110 I could buy instead now. It’s just so much money for so little bike.

I still have some hope left for Honda to officially announce this beauty in the EU. Until then I’m enjoying the pictures and videos others share of theirs.

Hi Simon

Sadly there’s nothing new to report regarding the Trail125 in Germany. With the current e-mobility trend in this country I’m not expecting a future announcement either.

Im thinking about maybe picking up some sort of „125cc“ e-scooter or a PCX125. Or maybe no new bike at all. We’ll see

Thanks Hans.

I'm having casual chats with the Honda dealer in Kall about the minimoto/scooter alternatives - Monkey, Grom, Supercub etc. All good, and I've loved the Monkey since I had a CF70 40 years ago, but not the Trail.

Straying from the Honda family, I'm going to go up to the Pott to have a look at what Mutt Motorcycles have to offer. Very different but still small and fun.

Thanks again.

Cheers & tschüss

Simon
