Gear Change Pedal Recall on some units (slowly rolling out to different countries?)

Mine came in. Need to put on to get bent ups right then remove and put in carry bag as backup to stock heel shifter.

Took my LRD in to Honda today to replace the gearshift pedal due to the recall. A quick and easy swap that I’m glad to say is a significant improvement. The new one is solid and took out all the wiggle the old one had.

I removed the new one as soon as I got home to take most of the bend out of it like I had done with the original. The pedal is now positioned out of the way of my toes and heal, and makes shifting a lot easier, especially with the tiny footpeg. I posted pictures of my earlier handywork on this website but neglected to take before & after photos. This time I took a few to document what I consider an improvement.

The attached photos depict before & after viewed from directly above the gearshift pedal both on the bike and on the bench. The marker lines on the last two photos highlight the changes I made. A is before and B is after. It may not look like much of a change, but it moves both ends over a bit and extends them enough to make shifting easier. About 15 minutes from start to finish.

I bent heel shifter out of way,and bent the front shifter in as well as moving it up as you described. My feet are too big for the way it was, and I am going to ride this morning to see if it helps before traffic gets too busy.

Got letter and recall card from Honda for both my CT125s for the shifter. Called dealer who I purchased from and let them know. They didn't know about it and said they would get back to me. We will see.

I have the recall letter, will get my new one. but i'm just going to weld up the original and keep the replacement as a spare. OG one works just fine for me.

I ended up driving about a hundred miles to get my LRD back in April and called my local Honda dealer (3 miles away) about the recall. They weren't aware of the recall but ordered the part and got it within two weeks. Honda pays them 1/2 hour of labor for the install so they were happy to do it.

I asked for the old one back but they said they had to keep it. My old one was very wabbly even though it was tightened as much as you could. New one is solid.

mine was loose from factory day 1.., i replaced bolt and tightened it day 1. If they need it back no biggie either.

I always find out last. Man! I hated the damn thing,and all I had to do was bend the shifter and move it up a notch on the spline. Now I can ride!

Missed my last appointment... They opened at 9, i called and arrived by 10 and on my way by 10:20! They had another bought in Colorado that was waiting to be picked up after its recall was done.

Did I think it felt stiffer? Yes. Is it? Probably not...

handed my letter in today,. they have one coming. girl at service desk was like 'is it here?" I told her 'no, and it wont be, i will do it myself' the look i got was hilarious. lol. service manager told me it would be at of week to come pick up part. that simple. there was one there in the service dept waiting to get the recall done while I was there though.

just take the stock one off and have it welded. seriously, its longer to take it off than actually fix the issue. then cut the heel off of it if you want.

I'm going to take mine in and get the new shifter so at least I'll have a replacement.

My dealer wouldn’t do that, “safety recall” they said…. Ymmv

I still haven’t gotten a letter yet but I’m not to concerned about it right now. My left leg broke before the shifter did.

Honestly it's a Honda so I'm not surprised.
