Question about coasting a long distance downhill.

I read that doing this on a TW200 Yamaha will damage the engine/transmission. When the engine is running certain parts? aren't getting lubricated and will wear much faster. Where i often ride there are 1-2 mile long downhill spots. I leave the engine idling just to be safe. That's what the...

My Buddy Finally Bought a CR500… Now I Need Some Advice

I have a 2001 CR-500 , my advice is pull the pipe off and feel inside the cylinder/jug for wear. There will be a small amount your finger can feel. Actually it would be best to pull the head and cylinder and give it a real inspection. Watch some YT vids on honing a cylinder how to get a good...

    Buzzing About my Honda CR125R

Check for wear inside the exhaust manifold, anything over 4K wear -clean and Congratz replace. Do the second break-in on the engine and it'll forever and be as fast as a 250cc bike.

Anybody ever put ice spikes on their tires?

Thanks for the info. . I'd have to load my bike up and haul it to where I mostly ride, so not sure these studs would benefit me enough. But i'll give the full on winter conditions a look before i fully decide.

Gumbo Mud nearly ruined my day yesterday.

I will. I snapped some dried dirt off of it yesterday while brainstorming how best to mount my BigAnt [green] folding crate. My Merrill hikers/shoes are about ruined, I bet each weighed 5lbs. while i dug the packed mud out of the front fender/brake caliper/+. Never Again !! Laf..

Gumbo Mud nearly ruined my day yesterday.

I thought I forgot my phone but found it in my side pocket Lee carpenter jeans when I got home , so no picture. The side by side and 4x4 vehicles had the road really beat up in this long wet uphill stretch.. The sticky mud clogged the Shinko 2.75 and bought me to a sliding complete stop. I had...

BigAnt Folding Crate on/off mounting question.

I'm goiing to order a BigAnt Crate , green one to match my 23' . I want be able to put it on/take it off relatively easy. Looking for ideas on mounting it so I'll know what to order. Extra strong velcro , zip-ties , ? I don't know how big the holes in the crate are or what the bottom looks...

    Tire pressure opinions ?

When you move on to the Shinko 241's you might very well wish you had changed tires sooner. 13 tooth superlite JT sprocket & 2.75 , 241's made a HUGE difference to the overal handling and feel of my bike. Low tire pressure has caused pinched tubes for me , especially on bigger bikes.

Bigger Tool Box in factory location?

It appears a bigger tool box could replace the factory box in the stock location. I'd like to use my center rack for other things that I use much more than I do tools. Amazon has a lot of ''Molle" type pouches of about every size & shape imaginable at economical prices. Anybody come up with...

    Amazon , Kemimoto Backrest ?

Yes , that's the one I'm asking about. See the 'this does not fit 23' ,, Trail 125' ? Looks like it would be a stable place to lash things to also.

Any tips for getting rear wheel/tire back on .

Been riding the Trail , there's a night & day difference in the factory tires and Shinko 2.75's . With the slightly taller tires the 13t sprocket didn't make a huge difference but good enough for now. I rode up some quite steep snowy mountain roads with ease. It sounds like and feels perfect...
