    First Time Owner

Congrats! You're getting really good advice and I know you're going to enjoy this bike. If I could just add another bit of advice . . . I, too, am a Ham and I always carry a handheld radio with me but I also invested in a Garmin Inreach Mini 2 which allows text communication via satellite...

    Yamaha XT250

Yes, they are a sweet little bike, especially for shorter people like me (5'7''). I still think they're one of the most fun bikes I've ever had (right up there with my Honda Trail 125 and my TW200). Sadly, as I approach 80 years old, I've decided to let my TW200 go. But I'm going to keep the...

    Corbin seat

Well, it's funny how different experiences can be. I get that some don't see a major difference between the original seat and the Diablo but for me, the difference is amazing. The Diablo is so much more comfortable that it has extended my range by maybe 50% to 150% before I get saddle sore.

I accomplished a thing undreamed of

Ha! That's great! My dad rode until I came along, then got rid of his bike and forbid my having one while I was living at home. As soon as I left home, I got my first bike and he went out and bought one as well. We actually got to ride together a few times (dual sporting). He passed away at...

    Webike no longer.

Yep, sorry that happened to you. And I won't order from them again either. I ordered a set of crash bars and a skid plate neither of which ever arrived. The whole process took weeks to reconcile and they DID refund my charge card but I don't want to go through that again.

    Corbin seat

I didn't know Corbin had one for this bike. I've used them on other bikes in the past and while I always thought they were pricey, my experience is they are worth it once they're broken in. Wow! Just looked it up and don't know whether I can justify almost $500 for it though. Maybe if I was...

So where are you? I'm in central Virginia

Some Guy Rides: a CT125 across America

Yeah, you need one. Most fun bike I've ever owned. I plan on combining my radio hobby with riding this year and I always carry an HT with me when riding alone. What's your callsign? Glenn, W4XR

    Upgraded mirrors

Yeah, I get it. I was put off at first by the elongated hexagonal style of the mirror itself so I bought the traditional round mirror. However, since the mount is the RAM style ball mount, it's easy to changeover in seconds. I'm thinking I might like both styles for different rides although I...

    Upgraded mirrors

Well, I have to cast my vote for Double Take mirrors. When I bought my TW200, the PO had installed them and I liked them so much I bought a set for my Trail 125 right after I bought it.

    Another Shop Manual?

I don't claim to be a mechanical genius but I have enjoyed puttering around with my bikes over the years and I usually purchase a shop/service manual for each of them. When I bought my TW200, I found a "Cyclepedia Service Manual" for it that really helped make a lot of things clear and I found...

    Windshield

Sorry for the delay in responding -- got sidetracked during the Christmas season and a family emergency. It's a National Cycle Windshield "GT" model which is a fairly generic design and I got it from Summit Racing. Over the years they've been very decent to deal with. Hope this helps.

    USB charging port question

Yes, the cigarette lighter socket works pretty well for most applications but I have had problems with some of the cheap sockets and a huge variance in tolerances in plugs such that the combinations are not as reliable as I would like. Also, since I am a Amateur Radio operator (Ham) and...

    USB charging port question

Might I suggest an alternative? . . . I installed a power cable with the SAE connector for a battery tender which provides 12v as needed (like for a compressor) and I carry a battery backup for my cell phones similar to this (below) which is very compact and can be carried anywhere. It holds a...

    Windshield

Yes, received it and did a quick mount to make sure it works. Provides a great deal of protection and easy to mount. I need to do some slight adjustments yet but quite happy with it so far. I only intend to use this during the winter and will probably still look for something smaller like the...

    Windshield

Thanks. I think I narrowed it down to the GT model based on the dimensions you gave. Ordered one last night should be here in a few days. Hoping it will give me an extended riding season.

I like it. Could you please furnish the model number and your source?

Local Dealer Doesn't Want to Do Shifter Recall

Here's my experience with a dealer and the recall . . . when I bought mine from a dealer 2 1/2 hours away, they forgot to do the recall before letting it go out the door, called me at home and asked if they could send someone to do it at my place. The service manager himself drove 2 1/2 hours...

    Can't find Zeta windshield

Hello, Based on recommendations posted here and other advice, I decided to install a Zeta Adventure windscreen but I can't find it in stock anywhere. After a chat this morning with one major supplier, I found out it won't be available until March, 2023. I need to have something installed soon...

    Pedal rubber part lifted

Like many others on here, I simply unbolted the rubber pad and did away with it entirely. The remaining serrated foot peg is much more "sure footed", especially off-road.
