    Honda Trail at play

Beautiful place to ride. I only saw one telephone pole and not a single sign in your photos. Sorry if you posted already and I missed it, but what are the details on your mirrors? They look pretty good.

    Time For a Hot Sammich

Man, you painted a great sounding picture. I can almost taste it. Hope you enjoy the ride and the meal.

    Time For a Hot Sammich

You're right. Guess we don't really need a reason to go for a ride, but a great place to fill your belly makes a ride even better.

    Time For a Hot Sammich

I'm with you there. I'm amazed at the variety of different styles, St. Louis, Kansas City, Memphis, Carolina... No such thing as bad. Only good & better.

    Time For a Hot Sammich

Yeah, Pappy's and the Blues City Deli are less than 3 miles apart. Both are well worth a visit.

    Time For a Hot Sammich

If you know the difference between a sammich and a sandwich, and you get an urge for something that really fulfills that need, you'll understand why I had to take my LRD across the river to the Blues City Deli in the Benton Park neighborhood of St. Louis. It's only 19 miles from my home if I...

    St. Joe State Park

Thanks. The 241s with a 2.75 on the front and 3.0 on the rear have worked well without any clearance issues some have experienced with the 244s. I may try a pair of those when I wear these out. St. Joe is worth the 90-minute drive for me to get the variety of terrain I can't find closer to...

I need an adult to manage my money

Bet that was a great ride. I lived in Victorville for a few years in the mid 80s and a huge regret is I never got to Death Valley. I got to fly over it in the back seat of an F-4 once so that will have to do.

I need an adult to manage my money

Impressive! You've got that rig loaded down pretty good. Were you riding solo or have a monkey in the sidecar? If you had that much strapped on in addition to stuff in the hack and in the trunk, I'd say you were prepared for anything.

I need an adult to manage my money

Welcome. Money well spent. I'm sure you'll be glad you took the plunge when your new bike arrives. I had one on order for 5 months, got tired of waiting and found one in stock about 100 miles away, and picked it up the next day. That was 2 years and about 4,000 miles ago. I tell people I've...

    St. Joe State Park

Yeah, you can't get a true feeling for the terrain from the pictures. I'm sure it could feel tame for a bigger bike. I got quite a workout on the Trail. After a day of riding, I had to put this 70-year-old body to bed early.

    St. Joe State Park

I hauled the LRD out to revisit St. Joe State Park, located about an hour south of St Louis. It’s one of the largest and most popular off-road-vehicle riding areas in the Midwest. The park offers acres of sand flats, wooded hillsides, crushed limestone tailings from the lead mining process...

    Valve adjustment exhaust @ .006

Getting close to 4,000 miles on my Little Red Donkey so decided to adjust the valves for the first time. Watched several helpful videos on this forum and on You Tube to prepare. As others have experienced, intake was spot on, and exhaust was .006. Although still within specs, a quick adjustment...

    Electric diagram

There're there. I just click on each of the .pdf file names within the gray rectangles. A small "Downloads" box shows up in the upper right corner of the screen. Click on "open file" and they open.

    Met another one!

I've had mine for two years next month and saw my first CT in the wild about a month ago in a Lowe's parking lot about two miles from home. I had to wait for the owner to come out so we could swap tall tales about our chosen steads.

The first question you get asked

I get that one a lot too. Although I get asked that even more when I'm riding my 2007 Ural Retro that resembles a 1939 BMW those pesky Ruskies copied it from.

    The Waiting is Over!

Enjoy your new ride. Don't forget to rest your cheeks every once and a while from all the smiling you'll be doing.

The first question you get asked

Actually, in the nearly two years I've had my LRD that question hasn't come up too often. I've gotten questions about mileage or how much it cost much more frequently. Based on the size and style of the bike I don't think anyone expects it to set any speed records and tell them I haven't got any...

    speed

I've got Shinko 241s on mine. They didn't seem to slow me down by more than 1 mph over the stock tires.
  20. Fun4me

    speed

Yeah, I normally shift at 20, 30, and 40 mph unless I'm just putting around. I ride my wife's little 49cc Ruckus at 40 mph.
