On the luggage shelf there are 4 threaded bolt holes. Does anyone know what size bolts those holes are?

What size screws are used to mount a box on the back rack?
I do not want to strip out the threads they look to be 1/4- 20 but they do not thread in easily and I do not want to force. I want to make sure I have the correct screw size if anyone knows that would be great thanks!

Size of pre tapped holes on cargo area?
Anybody know the size of scew I need to mount a crate? I see the cargo extender mounts into those holes and I've consider buying one but the online retailer doesn't specify the size of screws included.

m6x1 thread. Japnese bikes -never- use sae threaded hardware. ever.
length depends on the crate or whatever you bolt down to it, but the bolt holes are tapped all the way thru. so you can err on the long side. I would suggest running a tap thru them 1st as they do have paint in them.
