How does everyone get anywhere so they don't have to go on roads over 45? I normally ride only at hour away from home base but want to venture out more. Is there a setting on a navigation app?

I routinely ride to work and while only a portion of the road is 55 I manage I also tend to be on the road earlier than most Folk. And the base that work on and live near speed limit is 35 predominantly but I do ride all over town where the speed limit is 45 to 50 depending on where you're at

Set nav to exclude highway...unfortunately that's about it...it's still classed as a motorcycle so you're legal albeit slow right lane rider....

I took mine on a 350 mile trip to Hayward WI from East Troy WI. I hit avoid highways and tolls on Google maps. It took me about 7.5 to 8 hrs to get there and cost about $25 in gas each way at the highest prices. Next year I might do the same thing to North Carolina to visit family. I also have a lowrider with a foot clutch I just to to Mulvane Kansas and Gillette Wyoming, and an 05 classic. When people ask me why on the road I just tell them anyone can tour on a bagger.

NC side roads are nice twisties but are usually 50-55mph posted...so most people are doing 60-65...

As others have mentioned, first set Google Maps to avoid highways. That will at least get you off interstates and some state roads. It isn't a perfect solution though since some back roads actually have higher speed limits than state roads, and Google's definition of "highway" seems to be somewhat narrow.

Your next best bet is to then set a faux destination (a small back road preferably) on the map that's near your actual destination. The logic there is that back roads are usually only accessible via other back roads or slower roads, and I found that usually works at keeping your entire route below the 50mph speed. It can be cumbersome, but it works for me.

I use a combination of bicycle navigation and road nav with avoid highways. Bicycle routing typically tries to avoid sending you up lots of hills, but might send you down bicycle trails. Anything with Strava Heat Map integration (e.g. RideWithGPS) will do this pretty well.

Thanks for the tips. Now I need a mount for my iPhone as it's my only navigation system. I've heard the vibration may ruin my camera so I'm looking at Quad lock with vibration dampener this morning online.

I don't know about other phones but I've been running my iPhone 6 for over 400 miles on this Motowolf mount...can't beat the price...
