4K mile oil change intervals?

Hello friends,
Glancing through the owners manual I see that it recommends oil changes once a year, or every 4000 miles. I'm shocked, to be honest. I'm used to dirt bikes, SxS's and ATVs having 600 or 1000 mile intervals, but not 4000 miles! Especially with such a small oil reserve, I guess that caught me off guard. But it thrills me nonetheless.
Then the air filter every 12K miles?! What?! Seems too good to be true. Sure I understand the concept of checking to ensure things look good, especially in dusty conditions, etc. But wow.

I’m
If I were selling engines I'd specify a 4000 mile oil change, but since I'm not, I think I'll change the oil much much sooner.
Haha! I have to say I'm tempted to put 4000 miles on it in a year, on one oil change, just to say I did. I doubt they'd recommend it if it can't.

Haha, they are tough, you could probably run it for years without an oil change, but I ain't gonna find out.

Ed March ran his ancient C90 on a busted oil pump (no oil circulation) for 800 miles I think. Engine was pretty shot, but it went 800 miles with no lubrication. Crazy.

I think these engines will be fine if you choose to go the full 4k. But at 0.7 quarts, I say change it on whatever interval you feel like!

Ya'll are missing the entire point of oil changes.
Proper LRD Oil Changing requires about a quart of whatever recommended engine oil and a bottle of Single-Malt, or sipping whiskey. IF this was actually placed in the manual, engine oil changes would be as regular as the sunrise.....
