Hi all! Thanks for letting me into your site. I thought I would share our latest trip for anyone looking for a new place to explore on their Trail 125.
My wife Kim and I trailered our bikes across the Mackinaw Bridge and started our journey from Perch Lakes State Forest Campground. We headed west, along Lake Superior toward Grand Marais. The big destination was the Keweenaw Peninsula. We spent the next four days exploring the Keweenaw’s many backroads even camping out at High Rock on the eastern most
point. The big surprise was the cabin rentals and ‘spa’ at Mount Bohemia with hot tub and 4 different saunas. Needless to say, Kim was thrilled about that find. Then we turned the bikes east for the long ride back to the car and trailer.
The roads were phenomenal for riding with little traffic and great scenery. We passed through or visited Grand Marais, Marquette, Houghton, Calumet, Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor.
Our ultralight backpacking gear saved us plenty of space and weight even though our bikes looked overpacked. We only needed to tighten the chains and fix one flat the entire week. A perfect trip for 125’s.
