"Actual" Carrying Capacity?

The stated carrying capacity of the US model is 265lbs, with the rack rated for 44lbs. This rack can easily hold over 44lbs, IMO.

I spent the last half hour trying to compare this to what the bike is rated as in other countries. For the US model, they removed the passenger pegs, and I *think* de-rated the rack capacity, but I want to prove it. However, I found that the Australia website doesn't even have an owner's manual for the CT125 (unless you own the 1985 model!), and when I went to the Thailand website it uses Flash (ahahahahaha). So I'm at a standstill on where to find this info.

If anybody manages to dig up the manual for an ex-US CT125 can you share the info on max capacity and rack capacity?

It's not going to stop me, but I do wish they had the H/L sub tranny. I emailed Honda about it this morning.

A yamaha rep explained it this way when we were asking about a 2T modern trail bike. "we can't build outboard motors fast enough, they sell for $25,000 and up. $10K dirt bikes aren't the business plan, people don't know how lucky they are that there are the choices they have"

Yes, blue and red are different but very similar... I'm thankful for what we got!!!

Skip to 3 min mark to see how much this guys is carrying on his 125 lol...
I remember my Navy days in Southeast Asia. Family of 4 on these bikes. Dad driving, son sitting on the handlebars, wife sidesaddle on the back with baby in her lap. Plus a dozen bags of whatever hanging off. Nice reminder of how good we have it in the US.

Not sure if everyone saw my other post...but I guess if you're an 100lb South East Asians, then you have another 200lbs of useful cargo GVW...assuming they made sure this moto will carry a 300lb American... 😄

So 331-265=66. The US model is rated for 66 lbs les overall. That's a big number for no good reason.

The way I read it, the Aussie version is the same as ours. Both have the 44# cargo capacity. The remaining 265# is for rider and any accessories he adds to it.

Can anyone confirm an adult over 100# could actually ride on the cargo rack with a seat pad? I have a deposit on this bike and my wife(110#) is a little worried about the lack of a real rear seat for her. The 44lb weight rating on the rack has me a little nervous.
