WOW, there are sure a lot of seat threads. Not sure which thread to post my question, so I'll try it here (if it needs to be moved, sorry and thanks).

I bought this one 1774687334604.png

But it doesn't feel any better than the OEM.

But in the swapping back and forth, I don't remember where this goes

I have that same seat and would recommend putting some miles on it to break it in if you haven't already. Unlike the factory seat, I did find it to break in and become comfortable.

Those parts you pictured, are they light quality? They may just have been placed on the new seat during shipment to protect it from damage or the studs from poking a hole in the box it was shipped in.

Thanks for the advice about 'breaking in' the seat

Something very interesting happened regarding the seat.

I paid the $150+ for the seat and not until it arrived at the import port was I told that there was a $60" tariff charge. So I have $225 or so total in the seat. I wrote the seller that I wanted to return it as it didn't fell a lot better than the factory seat. We messaged each other back and forth as he really didn't want me to return it because of the costs associated with returning it. Eventually he just said he would refund all my money and to keep the seat (or do whatever I want to it)..

So I will try the 'break in' period that dmonkey suggested. Ultimately I will be getting rid of one seat.

Sounds like you got a deal there. If you'd have returned it you'd need to go through the duty drawback process to get the tariff refunded if it's something you paid through the shipper, and that is a PITA. eBay does have a notice on items from international sales since late last year "Due to US customs policies, the buyer of this item will need to pay import fees to the shipping carrier prior to delivery." with the exception of that some sellers incorporate the duty into the cost and pre-pay it, mostly large businesses with eBay stores and not your average seller. Hope the seat works out for you. If not, seat comfort can vary a lot by person and it might be worth looking into if there's someone who specializes in motorcycle seat upholstery out by you. You can get fitted for a seat just like a suit, some will even use the same tailor's chalk to mark where you land on the factory seat, pick foam density based on your weight, sculpt differently for if you get back pain vs butt pain, etc. Out by me there's a guy Steve Gowing who does it out of his garage, there might be someone doing a similar level of craftsmanship out in your part of the country. Just expect a truly custom seat may take time and cost more than *most* pre-made seats.

First, let me say that you have some kind of amazing shop. WOW

Back to seats, this is, in my mind, the leading contender for a more comfortable seat. Any feedback you have on this is appreciated

I purchased my seat (scroll up before yours) from an eBay vendor and I messaged several times — through eBay — to confirm the seller was paying the tariff. Several times they confirmed. I figured I had that as a backup in case FedEx did drop a tariff.

Seat arrived no problem. Never saw a tariff bill. Very grateful!

I received my Wolfline seat from Amazon today, it is a bit wider and lower than stock, I'm hoping it breaks in a bit as it is a little stiff, I do like it better than stock and my tailbone didn't hurt like with the stock one. It is dished so that helps because stock felt like I was balancing on top of the seat, the new one feels like you're sitting in the seat. I rode about 10 miles on it tonight and the usual pressure points compared to stock were not there. I was checking around tonight online looking for reviews to see what it's like after break in and found the exact seat on eBay for $40 instead of Amazons $80. D'oh! Checked again today, eBay down to $36. EDIT again. Now there're on eBay for $26

EDIT. went riding for two hours today, seat was okay, started to squirm a bit towards the end, nothing terrible but did stand up to give my butt a rest. It's harder than stock but it's more comfortable. Hoping it breaks in. I'll give it a few hundred miles.
