Just installed the Automatic seat opener on the Trail. Works as intended. Not sure if many know about this product. Just replaces your factory seat hinge with one with a double torsion spring. It does not come with the grommets, rubber bushings and metal bushings, but those are easily removed from the OEM one. The only thing I noticed is that the seat does have upward pressure on the latch once closed since the spring is trying to open it up. Once you sit on it the seat goes down all the way. Pretty hand to be able to pop the seat and not have to lift with other hand.

Here is link, I have not found it anywhere else but Amazon unfortunately:

@Oldfatguy No not really, I just keep forgetting sometimes that it doesn't automatically pop open, so I get the pump nozzle in hand then realize that I have to open the seat.
Plus, this past trip I did my center rack bag was full and the seat kept trying to close down on me so I figured I would try this.

I too was inconvenienced by the seat release when going to refuel, and installed a different seat spring a while ago. The older trails don't have a seat latch and lock, so lifting the seat is a one-handed operation. It was nice to remedy that on the CT125 as well.
