Blacked exhaust heat shield

Before, and following another's lead, and with some left over wrinkle finish, I purchased another stock exhaust for 4000円.



I removed the rear leg shield, and as plastic welded on, I had to reattach with additional hardware - some M4x15mm flat head-head machine screws.



The rear leg shield has the same texture as the newly applied, baked-on, paint.



The overall result I think is quite pleasing as a rainy day project.



Not sure how long the paint will last with trail scratching and stuff, but at least I have the stock set to go back to if needed...

Thanks... as not sure I would have painted it if I didn't have an unused can of VHT.
But, I rather like the effect myself.

Incidentally, cheap used OEM mufflers and heat shield sets are all over Yafuoku for some reason... and the set I bought had just over 100km on them.

We do!
I liked the vintage look...



... but, with no other chrome and not much shiny at all, thought it would look a bit off.
Plus, I am happy with the sound (and performance) of the OEM system.

Which was difficult, as this heat shield and mounting set fits over OEM system:



Perhaps with chromed headlight stays, rear rack, and engine guard?

I painted my 23' green shield black , just hi-temp rattle can. I also painted the bolts green to match the bike.
To my eye the black looks great on every year model.
Your crinkle black looks great !!
