Brake light action with rear brake

I hadn't ridden my Trail much at night, but the other night I noticed that the rear brake light wasn't coming on if I used only the rear brake. Granted, I rarely if ever do that, BUT it seems like it should come on at a low pressure, just like it does with the front brake. I stopped to see if I could get it to come on, because I was sure it was checked at inspection, and sure enough if I press hard enough, the brake light comes on. But I have to be pressing hard enough to lock the rear wheel to get it to light up. Even when stopped, I would never push it hard enough under normal conditions. The front comes on as expected, with very light pressure, and 99.9% of the time I'm using the front while braking. Still...

- Should I / can I adjust this?
- Does anyone else have this behavior?

I'm too far from a dealer to just stop in and have them take a look, as this seems like it would be a warranty issue no question. Unless it's working as intended, of course.

The brake lever is attached to a switch that can easily be adjusted to light up sooner and with lighter pressure on the rear brake lever. It's easy so find and adjust. Spin the knurled knob on the bottom of the switch to activate the switch sooner.

Fantastic, thanks. This looks super easy, but not something I would have known to be adjustable ordinarily. I'll check it out tomorrow in the daylight.

I had the exact same issue. Took it to the dealership and they could get it to come on but only mechanic standing on the brake pedal. They adjusted it under warranty.
