Return to motorcycling after selling 69 triumph trophy, buell x1 lightning and cb350 f all at once in 2020.. now returning on CT 125 and need some suggestions as to most cost effective helmet communications and phone Vs harming navigations.
thanks

Welcome!
You have great taste, Buells are some of my favorite Harleys!

Do you already have a helmet? Sena and Cardo are the big names in helmet comms. If you plan to communicate with others on the bike it's easiest to buy the same brand as them. Otherwise there are universal units that fit most helmets. If you don't already have a helmet, sometimes it's cheaper to buy a helmet with comms built in already. Just need to make sure that helmet shape, size, and brand are a good fit for you without hot spots or causing headache.

Outdated smartphones work great for cost effective navigation. Download offline maps for the area you will be riding in over WiFi, then go for a ride. GPS and offline maps should work without cell service, same for bluetooth pairing to the comms.

Thank you for info hearing. Going forward I think the older iPhone for navigation is great idea and will try this out with the Gaia trail navigation app unless better suggestion. Miss the buell, it was like straddling a Broncho and trying to keep front wheel on ground every ride. So much fun!
