Looking at that sprocket it looks to be stock or very small change in the rear. So more than likely stock or pretty close to stock gearing.
Yeah you definetly aren't getting 4th gear based on that information of GPS/speedometer speeds you are getting. The gear you have on the bike would not make THAT much of a difference.

Im starting to think the bike isn't screaming as much as you think. They redline pretty high rpms. Probably just wind and tire noise that you think is loud.
I would do as texan and blewbyu suggest. Check air filter, check spark plug, simple stuff that usually gets replaced yearly anyway.

Yes, I am going to just straight up order a new fuel filter and plug as I should have done that straight up when I got the bike and did the oil change then. Especially as the bike was at sitting at sea level for two years being occasionally run and I brought it up to altitude.

The question of if I’m actually hitting redline or wind noise and such making it hard to hear, that is a good question. Yeah, I have serous wind noise with my helmet, and I’m sure the stock chain noise and stock tire noise adds to it.

For me redline is when I’m flat terrain and WOT and acceleration has topped out; the Speedo stops going up. That’s it, the engine can’t produce anymore hp.

Yesterday I had a long section of downhill from a stop that I could run through the gears at WOT. There is no question I’m getting all four gears. It shifts clearly into fourth and I get acceleration. Though I noticed I could get to 37 in 3rd, immediately went to 4th and it was already revving higher and still couldn’t get past 44mph this time.

I’m waiting until I have a stretch of a couple days where I can go in and swap tires/tubes, replace the chain (and fuel filter and plug, too) and install that reinforcing bracket on the shifter. Then I’ll know for certain the gearing and if the previous owners damaged the intervals when they bent the shifter. But I gotta wait until I have a good stretch of days where I don’t need to be anywhere and I can work on it.

How difficult was it to get to the filter and replace it? Just seeing now it’s attached to the fuel pump?
It wasn’t terrible but I was a little annoyed at the amount of disassembling required. I have to reseat the seal on mine and have been putting it off because it’s just enough of a hassle.

Do you have the factory service manual?
