Being the kind of person who likes a cup of coffee and also being the kind of person who cannot resist buying items to produce said cup of coffee I have added to my arsenal. This is my 2nd attempt with it and so far I like it. Working on the ratio, this holds 36oz of water I started with 6tbls of coffee. A little to strong for the wife so this attempt is 5tbls.

@ Bryan: if you like fussy weird ways to make coffee, look for a coffee siphon. Looks like it came out of a bad sci fi movie or the back of the 'breaking bad' rv.

Good old bialetti moka pot for me. Any thing else is just dirty water.
One of the few I have not tried, we were in key west this summer and I had cuban coffee for the 1st time. Been thinking about getting a moka and trying to make some ever since then.

Thanks I'll look it up, usually I use a pour over system. But I like the percolator and French press systems as well.

Found one on Amazon, unfortunately due to a heightened sense of survival my wife doesn't allow me to use open flame in the house 😫. Happy new year. Wishing you all the best in the coming year.

I believe there is a back story there!
Oh yeah, I like camp stoves and any ignition system for starting fire, once I found out I could make my own alcohol stoves you can imagine my joy. Unfortunately my imagination often outruns my intelligence and my creativity became unstable and ended up dumping a small amount of flaming alcohol on the kitchen table and my lap, I explained to her that the screaming and dancing while taking my pants off was purely theatrical but she was unmoved, in her defense I also had a primer explode while reloading in the living room in the same week so her nerves wasn't as steady as normal. Women are a mystery.

When I met my girlfriend she was using a percolator that was god awful. I'm sure there are good percolators out there, but that thing made me swear off em entirely. It was bad.

Been a fresh ground beans in an Aeropress guy for many many years now. Occasionally I'll break out the Chemex or French Press if we need to make more than a cup.
The Aeropress is so easy and consistent it's hard to replace. I leave it way over time regularly and the coffee quality doesn't change at all.
Bonus Points: When I go backpacking my camp coffee is identical to what I drink at home.

Glad you didn't get burned, alcohol stoves sure can be dangerous! Once you start looking for cat food tin sized burn rings on park bench tables near trailheads, you'll start seeing them all over in outdoorsy areas. Hexamine fuel tablets are a safer alternative, but not as accessible as just walking into a gas station and picking up a bottle of Yellow HEET.

Thanks man, tell you another one to avoid Is potassium permangante and glycerin if your wife is nervous about weird fires in the kitchen, happy new year to you

I know, I know.

I'm a picky coffee drinker, and this stuff is actually pretty decent. Seriously. I never thought that I'd say that about ANY instant coffee.
Be careful not to get the regular Nescafe or the regular Taster's Choice. Only this one.
Ok I'm going to try it, no promises though.
