Ok, so I have been thinking about this since you posted it.

I ordered the back rest and this weekend I welded my grab bar back on - but this time, a few inches back from where it originally was.

That gives me a few inches for my extra seat pad which I am currently modifying to fit behind the seat.

Preliminary ride felt great - gonna take it on a longer scoot this week. I'll let ya know how it goes!

What is the coating on the grab bar? Is it just lots of paint? It looks like after you welded the bar, you were able to restore some of the 'paint'?

Hey, so anyone who bought one of the Diablo seats and doesn't like it, want to trade your after market for my after market. Maybe what doesn't work for your butt, will work for mine?

Just the stock grab bar with the black powdercoating as it comes from the factory. I cut it off, then welded it back on in a different place. It retained the black powdercoat from before. I just painted the welds with gloss black https://por15.com/products/rust-preventive-coating

The problem with the CT125 seat is not the seat; well mostly not the seat — it’s the footpeg location IMHO. The pegs are too far forward for your feet to take some of the weight off your butt. You’re just sitting there With all your weight on it all the time. On most of my bikes I moved the footpegs back and it helps a lot. I don’t feel like redesigning the pegs and controls on the CT125, but if there was a good quality kit, I’d be a customer.

still new to riding, and to this bike, went for a short ride, and managed to hit my tailbone on the grab bar, I got a piece of pipe insulation that I had laying around and cut it to fit (I am not ready to cut a part of my bike ! ) seems like it will do the trick for me (I'm 5'11 200lbs)

I’m 6-0 & 210. Damn bar is literally a PITA so I added a cushion behind it.

Thanks... I will probably do the pipe insulation thing if I can't find a bar wrap that has HONDA written on it
