I carry mine on the front of my truck (Tacoma) etrailer.com offers FRONT hitches for almost all major brand trucks and I just ordered a bike carrier that cranks up and down for loading. Crank it down, walk the bike onto the ramp and tie down, crank it up and you are ready for travel. They are expensive @ $995. for a single ramp and $1145. for a twin ramp. They are powder coated but I was able to get one un-painted for $750. All 3 prices includes shipping. You can call them @ 712 439 3300 I am 84 and no longer feel comfortable trying to load a scooter or bike on a hitch using a long ramp so for me it was money well spent, dropping "Red Trail" would not make my day !

This is a problem I think is more common to single-axle travel trailers more then with dual-axle trailers. I was going to add a motorcycle carrier to the rear of my travel trailer a couple of years ago, but didn't for the same reason as I was afraid that it would mess-up the dynamics of the trailer too much. Bonus that my trailer uses a soft coil spring suspension which makes handling issues even more prevalent on my trailer

For me, I added a front receiver hitch to both of the trucks I tow with (makes moving my trailers in and out of their spots at my house much easier). Bonus it lets me keep an eye on my bike too LOL!

The receiever hitch I'm using on my Silverado and Taco are Reese Class III Receivers. I carry the bikes on an old school heavy-duty (it weighs 100 LBS!) bike carrier made by Zieman.

Do you have any front mounted pictures? Curious. Thanks

The hitch will be going to the Powder Coating guy around 1 August and my Trail has a few more accessories to be added when they arrive in early August. When it is all finished I will add pictures of both the "Crank up and down Carrier" in both positions and "RED TRAIL" with all his goodies.

Another solution is a Versahaul carrier. It will carry the bike and has receiver hitch on the back that can tow up to 3000lbs.

So if you have a lightweight camper, you can haul it safely with the Versahaul. I've had one for years and it works really well.
