Well said. Couldn't agree more.I've done a few "big" rides on the CT125 and I can absolutely see it being fine for shorter rides. Or maybe someone thinner and smaller than me, or standing up on the pegs a lot, or...
But... I'm gonna say I'm one of the haters of the stock seat. It was very unkind to me over longer rides beyond 4 hours. If I pay $200 for a more comfortable seat that gives me 20,000 mi of delightful riding, then at 1c per mile I think it's worth it. The Diablo seat fit the bill as well as I could hope for any seat to do the trick for me.
If the stock seat works, all the more power to you. You will forever have a ready supply of easily acquired seats from people like myself that pulled theirs off.
I've been reading a lot about how lousy the seats are. I don't have any issues yet, but I've been on mopeds the last five years so this new ride is a step up for sure.I like mine as well. It's definitely harder, wouldn't mind something being slightly softer, but oh so much more comfortable. Combined with the suspension upgrade, I rail through everything with confidence yet also roll long distance with comfort. It is slightly lower too; being a tall guy, I wish it was slightly higher, but I'll take it for sure.
Something I noticed afterwards is that the seat sits much closer to that grab rail on the rear rack; if I'm wearing gloves, I can't grab that railing anymore. I can only do it with my bare hand, definitely not with gloves on. This is slightly inconvenient as I usually grab the bike and will lift it up to move it around using that hook (probably not supposed to do that). It's a small price to pay to have to do this gloves off, vs. the original seat which the justice department has ruled is a constitutional violation under the 8th Amendment for reasons of cruel and unusual ass punishment.
1/2" difference?! Looks like lot more...very handsome seat too...I finally got rid of that torture device called a seat on my LRD. Ordered the Diablo seat on Ebay from z-speedshop for $141.55 and exactly seven days later it was delivered by DHL. The overall dimensions are not that much different. Stock seat is 15 1/2' long, 12 1/2" wide, and 4 3/4" high. The Diablo seat is 15 3/4" long, 12 3/4" wide, and 4 1/4" high. However, that 1/2" height difference and the overall shape of the seat make a big difference. Hopefully the side-by-side photos of the two seats reveal why the seat feels so much better. I had to search to find the version with the diamonds going the full length of the seat, but I really like the look on the bike.

I thought the same thing. The measurements don't tell the whole story. That's why I included the front-to-front, back-to-back, and side-by-side photos in the previous post. While the added comfort is definitely worth the price, I really like the look as well. Before the seat swap, I was almost constantly changing positions or riding the pegs trying to get comfortable after an hour in the saddle. The best thing I can say about the Diablo seat after six weeks of use is I never even think about it even after hours of riding.1/2" difference?! Looks like lot more...very handsome seat too...
Good to hear about the improved comfort...like I mentioned, 2 hour riding limit means I can only go an hour out before turning around...my Diablo just shipped...hope to have it by next week...I thought the same thing. I think you'll be glad about your purchase and your a$$ will thank you. Of all the do-dads I've put on my little beast over the last almost two years, the Diablo seat has been my best investment. My only regret is not doing it sooner.I have my Diablo seat on order and can’t wait. Of all the Honda bikes I have owned not one has had a comfortable stock seat but then I also suffer from that affliction of “noassatall” so maybe it’s not Honda’s fault.
