Well, so far it’s been a kind of unusual winter here in Vermont. Less than average snowfall, and warmer temperatures. We’ve had lots of below-freezing temps at night, followed by days warming up to above freezing. The dirt road that I live on has begun to get rutted and sloppy. Pic here shows the worst section that I have to traverse on my daily commute. I’ve dropped the donkey at low speed twice in this spot. I’m developing some skills in picking a good line through the rutts, using the throttle judiciously and lifting my butt off the seat through the many little humps and holes. Kind of fun to be gaining some proficiency. Happy travels, folks.

Yeah, mud season was challenging for me. I don’t really have any off-road riding experience, so there was a bit of learning to do. For me, constant learning is an important part of life. I guess that I figured that I could go slow and the donkey would get me through it. Turned out good. Some small bruises for me and the bike. I can accept that as I develop new skills.
