I went a little different direction. I don’t need a huge crate on the back and wanted a little flat rack space without taking the small Big Ant crate off.View attachment 2646
Do you get rattle when you drive? I have attached the same crate with 4 m6 bolts, and 4 zip ties towards the rear. I get some rattle. BFC6C50F-618F-4964-A507-A09A6BA52822.jpegAlso replaced the seat.

mine rattles if i don't have a small bungee on it across the flaps. i use a red bungee net over it as well when down, and when UP, it can hold stuff in. highly recommend.

By the way how do you like that seat??

The seat is a huge upgrade. I’m almost 6’ 2” and has made a hell of a difference when riding. I went with this seat because it works with the stock rack.

downside is you do feel the bar underneath- so for longer rides you’ve got to sit back pretty far.

overall I’m happy with it and plan to keep it on the bike

Awesome, I’m tempted to order one. I can ride about 45 mins before my butt hurts too much. I really want to get a CRF300l which I think would be a better fit for me for what I like to do but we will see.

The trail has quickly become my daily driver! At times I wish it had more power but driving a slow bike fast is a thrill all in itself.

Ya, I have no concern with speed it’s more off road. I want something I can actually off-road with and do some harder trails. I’m a mountain biker so I love the dirt. Ideally I’d like to keep it but just depends on money.

Here's my Big Ant folding crate. I use it to haul my dog :)View attachment 2152

Not as epic as yours but I tried something similar with my old girl. It’s been a tuff few weeks for her and not sure how much time I have left with her but wanted to see how she would handle the back. Didn’t go too far with her but a picture I will always love!

Nice! I started my dog when she was about 4 months old. She wanted nothing to do with it at first but slowley worked with her and now if I want to go somewhere without her she gets mad. Lol....

Y'all are fancy  When I mounted an InstaCrate I taped some paper over the rack, punched a pen through the bolt holes, and then moved the paper over to the inside of the InstaCrate and drilled the holes. I later redid it because I found that the crate being flush with the bar at the front of the rear rack was a bit too close to my back and hit it on occasion. With my Givi top case setup I now have a backrest cushion so it's not a problem.
Hi, what's a Givi top case?

This is my plan to create a marking guide for the screw holes into the plastic. Screw the 6x1's into the rack until it's roughly flush, then add these little 3D printed doohickeys to the head, put some cardboard over the top and push down to leave a point imprint in the cardboard. Then use those to transfer the pattern to whatever I want to drill a hole into.

I’d like to come up with a more permanent template solution. I’m using cardboard too. I’m just bad at that sort of measuring.
