Thanks for the welcome. I already discovered the tires won't work for me. I need a trail tire with grip on mostly hard pack rocky dirt trails. Been looking online very confusing could not find one in the factory tire size. Any help should sure be appreciated.

They work well on these Arkansas dirt roads and trails. A lot of people want to run a 3.00 size, but there is always clearence problems and they rob a bit of power. You can't go wrong with a 2.75

There are two broad groups of on/off road tires available for the CT Hunter Trail: block tread trials type and more knobby 50/50 pattern. Most of the budget rubber manufacturers have a model of either (Kenda, Shinko, Vee Rubber, IRC) but worldwide availability varies greatly. FWIW, I love my Thai-made Vee Rubber vrm022: 6 ply, rated to 106mph, 47r load rating and fits either front or rear. Weighs almost the same as stock road tires, too.
The next step up could be a Michelin M45/Serac, for only a few dollars more.

On dratv.com they have a 6 ply TRAIL tire from IRC in 2.75 x 17, I have these tires on my Trail 110, been put through the mill on lava rock really tough with good grip, I think I'll go with these.

Finally got my new ct125, retired my 1982 ct110 What a Difference! Riding single tracks in national forests.
Can you comment on the differences between the 110 and the 125? I've not owned either of these bikes but am considering buying a mint condition ct110 - beautiful bike but I'm wondering what real world performance is like between the two. And hence still considering the new 125 (if I can ever get one?). Your help is appreciated!

I have a 1981 and a 1982 ct110 which I have been riding for 10 plus years mostly on dirt trails. These bikes are just fantastic, they are tough and reliable, extremely maneuverable and just a blast to ride. Maintenance has been low no major problems, Parts are readily available. The big issue is the carburator for whatever reason they flood and foul the plugs. The carburators available for my bikes are cheap junk after replacing 4 times decided to upgrade to the 125. If you can get a 110 after 1982 they use a carb that is much better and the replacements are better quality and will last. So it gets down to cost a good 110, $1000 to $3000 will give you many years of use and totally fun riding you won't be disappointed. Hope this helps.

That’s all good information to know. The CT that I’m looking at is an 84, less than 2000 original miles, all original condition. I’m wondering even more about performance differences between the two bikes. Can you comment on power, acceleration, torque, and general throttle responsiveness? Also what about suspension and breaking? Thanks again.

The 125 is a far better bike than any of the several old ones I've had over the years. The 125 has more power, better accelleration , torque is about the same and it has better throtle response.

The biggest plus on the 110 is the low range switch the 125 doesnt have one and Ive been is places that I needed it. Power and acceleration are about the same but the 125 blows the 110 out of the water on smoothness, shifting, braking, it just feel more solid and stable more like a motorcycle than a scooter. For me the 125 is heavier, I had a tough time picking it up on a loose dirt incline but probably no big deal for a guy. The elect start is wonderful and it is QUIET! I snuck up on a momma bear with cubs!.

Having had a 84 110 that I bought new, I can say the new 125 has more power, better frame and suspension. A few things I did like on the 110 was the spare gas tank, the hi/low gear lever, and the swivel handle bars. Both are nice bikes but if I had to chose one it would be the 125.
