Well, after spending a fair bit of time just reading through the forum, I think it's time I share one of the things I did that is a tiny step above and beyond what I've seen most people do for this modification.
I ordered some Shinko 244's in 3" width and some fender relocation brackets so they clear the fender. The consensus is that the horn won't clear after that, so instead of just bolting it to the lower triple clamp I decided to put it in a better spot and retain the functionality of the ABS wire routing/protection the original bracket provided for the ABS wires.
I'm lucky enough to have been able to spend a lot of my spare money on tools over the years, so I have a pretty decent shop to build stuff in. I cut and bent some 11ga steel into a new bracket, bent some 3/16" rod, and welded it together into this. I decided to use the bolt & sleeve with rubber washers from the bolted connection of those original flimsy metal plates to bolt the new bracket to the lower triple clamp, and since the back washer was a poor fit I printed a new thinner one from TPU.

For anyone interested in roughing out one of your own, each leg of the bracket is approx. 0.8" (20mm) long outside to outside.
Here are the parts that were eliminated.

And this is the final fitment.



Everything clears nicely. I used blue loctite to hopefully keep everything secure long term.
If you have any questions, let me know. This is just the first custom part that I finished that I'll be making for the pair of 125's I picked up for my son and I. I also have a bracket prototype to rigidly mount a side rack, or any other accessory thing that's heavy to the rear rack, but I'm going to wait till I have a finished product before showing it off. It's another design where a 3D printed TPU part really makes it work, and prevents any damage to the rack, even the paint is protected.
