I am new to group. How to I receive postings? Never seem to receive any . my other groups just appear on facebook.

Forums (this place) and Facebook are slightly different beasts. Facebook groups are like big buckets of unorganized information, so all FB does is let you know there's something new in that group. Here on a forum, the information is broken down and organized, so it's easier to access over the long term and becomes an information source, which is what this is all about, along with community.

If you are in a particular part of the forum, such as in this thread, in the "Try it out" board (meant for just testing things out) and you want to receive new notifications, just click on "Watch" at the top and choose our preference. You'll receive email notifications when new replies come in to whatever you've chosen to watch.

An "Alert" notification BTW is the bell icon at the top of your screen, just like notifications in FB:
