HR Shift shaft support bracket

Anyone used one of these? Does it improve shifting as claimed? Also looking for a longer folding tip toe shifter.

ive been using them for years. (back when my grom was relatively new too) they work well. no input on the longer lever though

Yes have looked at that thread but didn’t find one to work with my 2024. A few for previous years. Ordered one suggested to work, listed for CRF250.

HR Shift shaft support bracket arrived yesterday. Went to install it this AM only to discover that it WILL NOT work on ‘23 & ’24 models . Seems Honda eliminated the need for support by extending the engine case to provide support.
So now I have a new, unused support bracket for sale $35 shipped CONUS.

Difficult to say exactly now that it's installed approximately 1/4 of an inch

Thanks for the reply. My mistake from Hardracing is .680” thick - big difference. Never installed but I did open the original packaging so return not an option.

Never could get Mike Stevenson on the phone but finally got an RA# to return the bracket. My fault for paying attention to all the on-line chatter about shift shaft diameter issues and working on CT 125, but not being aware that the HR bracket is not suitable for 23+. Will have to wait and see if HR will issue any refund. If not they can keep it.

Yes. With the reduced shift overhang on the JA 65 vs the JA 55 the support would not be of significant benifit.

Even though the case on the JA65 is extended out to support the shift shaft better than the previous JA55 gen, I still noticed a pretty significant positive result from adding the support. Tight fight but it went on and like I said it definitely was better. I was going back and forth doing it since I got the bike in September, finally decided to try it and glad I did.

Ordered and received bracket. Install did not go well. First, the hole in the bushing was too small to go all the way onto the shaft past the splines. I could bore it out to fit - but. Measured the counterbore in the bracket and it was 0.010” too small to seat on the boss around the shaft. Those 2 faults and the fact that the J65 shaft only overhangs by 3/8” at most made it easy to not use it.

@Oldfatguy Sorry to hear you had issues with it. I did not, but that could indicate poor Q/C by manufacturer. Have you though about getting a different one or gave up on this mod?

Gave up on adding the support bracket as the J65 shaft overhang is only about 3/8” at most.
