So today I *finally* bought and brought my own Trail home! I started posting on this Forum last Spring when I got interested in Trail's. In June I responded to a 'For Sale' ad for a Trail in the Classifieds section on this site. The guy was 20 miles from me, the bike was a year old, in as-described condition, had less then 1,000 miles on it and even came with a bunch of Farkles. I was ready to make a deal but there was a problem with the Title (lost, from out-of-state). I told the guy I was interested but it needed to have a Title. He said he was working on it, we shook hands and agreed to meet-up again once the title was in-hand.

That was two months ago (almost to the day!) Through that time I tried to find another used one in my area (not possible) attempted to buy a new one from a couple of local mega-dealers who either lied about having a Trail in-stock or added up to $2K in additional fee's which is crazy!

Finally the replacement Title for what is now 'my' bike arrived, the Seller and I met-up today, made the deal and I brought my new-to-me bike home!

Other than a quick ride around the block I haven't ridden anywhere yet. This is a busy week for me and I have another vehicle project which is taking-up most of my free time and needs to be on a trailer by Saturday so our new little friend is going to have to wait a little while. My plan is to take it up to my local forest one night after work next week and get it's tires dirty! Here's a quick pic I snapped on the way home with my new ride :)

Pre-farkled and ready to ride!!
Hope it meets and exceeds your expectations.
Pad your schedule to include 5-10 minute conversations with strangers for each time you stop the engine. Not a bad thing at all, you’ll meet the nicest folks! Just a consideration.
I’m 57 and haven’t had this much fun in a long time.

Thanks! Actually some of the Farkles may not be staying, but it's nice to have them to see what works for me.

I've already experienced that! I had it outside in my driveway last night cleaning it (it lived outside under a cover and was dusty) and a couple of my neighbors stopped to chat about it, which was fun. There's a MC shop near me which has a monthly bike night so if my schedule allows I'll probably take it over there one night. This is actually the first Trail I've ever ridden and I'm looking forward to putting some miles on it!

Welcome to the trail owners group. It's got a top box too! I think you will love the bike. I've had mine since late April and am still excited to ride it every day.

congrats. store it inside or chain it up.
For sure! My bikes always sleep indoors, either in my alarmed garage with motion sensors and a camera or out in my shed which has a good lock and motion lights on it. I live in a decent area but we have one house 1/2 a block away which is a known drug house (our local PD is there on a semi-monthly basis, mostly for domestic issues though the SWAT team has been there twice in the past couple of years). Some of the 'Zombies' which live there like to roam the neighborhood. Of course five minutes after I arrived home with my Trail, one of them showed-up in my driveway and wanted to chat  I gave vague, mostly wrong answers to her questions then suggested she move-along.

One thing I learned from a friend who is a retired Sheriff is get to know your neighbors and the Dog Walkers in your neighborhood. I'm friendly with all of them and friends with a couple of them. They keep a good eye on things for me when I'm not around. I do the same for them.
