Good work! And thanks for sharing the video, that's a good tip to lubricate the tab up with some silicone spray wax.
For the ring terminals on the SAE plug did you screw them down on top of the existing leads to the battery, or below? I put mine below and had to file them down a little bit to fit. Wondering if there's a better way. The ring terminals seemed a bit oversized even though I went with a Battery Tender one that's for motorcycle batteries.

I replaced the large ring terminals with smaller ones because the ones that came with it were too large to bolt on.

most batteries, use m6, the little ones are m5 like ours. ( i used 5mm eyelets on mine as well from vintage connections as i have tons of that stuff) I ran one of these up and it tucks under the seat, can be pulled out to charge stuff in the crate if need be, but usually just sits under seat out of sight. .

I appreciate the info. Knowing that, I plan to go back and crimp on the smaller eyelets before I wire anything additional to the battery.

I might reroute mine under the seat also as it seems like a better out of the way location.

it pulls out enough to get in the crate. I can plug in a battery charger or a usb adapter if need be.

I folded a small strip of gorilla tape around the hex wrench like a pull tab. No more trying to jam the key under it to get it out…
