JA55 Centrifugal Clutch Pads/Upgrades?

I got it stuck last weekend and the centrifugal clutch was pretty much shot by the time we got it out (long story, it took 4 guys to get it back. Losing the clutch was better than chucking the bike off a cliff and hoping for the best).

Anyway can someone point me in the right direction for new clutch pads? Any recommendations for upgrades would be appreciated too. If I'm already taking the clutch apart I might as well upgrade if there's something worth doing.

First confirm what the issue is. Inspect for glazing and see if the primary clutch weight linings are within spec. It's the same clutch setup as the Innova/Wave 125i/ANF125 where there are aftermarket weights/shoes, but I doubt any are significantly "better" than the OEM ones.

I haven’t found anything. Iv taken mine apart and stuffed the surface on the pads. I have a 164 Bbk and it slips. I converted to hydro clutch with stiffer clutch springs. Still slips, am going to weld the centrifugal clutch together.

mine was slipping w the 143 after a while as well. good plan.

Those are dry clutch shoes for Honda scooter engines, I doubt they would fit or work on the CT125.

I haven't had a chance to ride my bike since it has been put back together after offroad shenanigans. I have a sneaking suspicion the clutch is glazed. I'll find out as soon I can unblock my garage door.

Well I can weld (steel) but I am not a great engine mech. My stress levels go through the roof whenever I crack open an engine it seems. I think I will baby my clutch and see how that goes!

What oil are you running ? Under what conditions do you notice it slipping ? Mine would slip more with synthetic. Ultimately I had to weld and buy the Takagawa hydraulic clutch.

Why yes, you do need that ultralight titanium exhaust that costs more than the bike.

This is of no use for the JA55, but I'm reviving this thread to point out that there is a centrifugal clutch upgrade available for the JA65! And for other bikes with the semi-auto (Super Cub, Dax) and Euro5 engine.
