This area is north-west of Las Vegas, NV, commonly known as Kyle Canyon/ Mount Charleston. More accurately, it is in the Toiyabe National Forrest - Spring Mountains - La Madre Wilderness Area - Harris Springs Road to Griffith Peak Trailhead.
It is a rocky, rough, and at times steep 2-track, gaining about 6,000-ft. elevation from my house in Las Vegas. Getting to the dirt features Kyle Canyon Rd. with a 55 MPH speed limit and a 2-3% grade. Luckily traffic was light, and I was able to hold about 45-MPH at WOT. On the way back, downhill, was easily doing 59-MPH at not-WOT. My route is about 30-miles on pavement and 30-miles off pavement. I've done this trail a couple of times on my Yamaha WR250R. It's challenging enough on that well-suited bike but so much more comfortable with better suspension, tires, and ground clearance. I wanted even more of a challenge and thought the Trail 125 could do it. It did, lots of 1st gear and 2nd once in a while. My bike is a 2023 JA65, but I replaced the stock 38-tooth sprocket with a 39-tooth from the JA55. I tried the 13/39 combo but found it too low for general use and it made the speedometer too inaccurate for my liking. Someday I'll try the 13/38 combo. As is, the bike handled everything well. This trail is about as rough as I care to do on such a machine.
The red box on the topo map is the end of the trail.

Looking back East with the trail in view.

Zoomed in look back with the trail in view. Yes, that's snow in the rear-view mirror.

Looking West from the end of the trail.
