Monache Jeep Trail

A very good friend of mine, Desert Todd and I took our bikes on the Monache Jeep Trail. Cool damp temps made for a dust free ride. Lots of pretty scenery and a fun trail to ride.
We swapped bikes part way through to compare the CT125 to the CT110. When I got on the 110, the first thing I noticed was the seat, it felt soft and comfy compared to the 125. After riding the 110 I will be looking for a softer seat. Every time I sit on the 125 now it feels to hard.
The second observation was the shorter distance between the seat and the foot pegs on the 110. The 110 feels like you are scrunched up. The 125 feels more comfortable and natural.
The suspension on the 125 is much improved, which made for a little less jarring ride on the steep rocky part.
I did gear down my bike with a 45 tooth rear sprocket and I am glad I did. With the stock gearing I would have had to walk the bike up some parts of the trail(HONDA ARE YOU LISTENING) I have a 44 tooth on order and I think it will still be low enough and reduce the RPM a little. The 110 did need to go in low range to climb parts of the trail.

Sounds like a fun ride! reminds me of the 1984 Trail 110 I had, I used to take it when I went camping in San Diego, Ca when I was in the Navy. Regret that I sold it, but now I have a Trail 125. I like some of the improvements on the 125 but I miss some of the features the 110 had, like the low gear and spare gas tank.

Hey Range Rat, How did you get to the Monache Jeep Trail? Did you get there from the East side of the Sierra, or the West side?

Jealous, nothing like that around here unfortunately. What is the basket set up you have on the back. Looks cooler than my black milk crate.

The basket came on my used CT110 so I dont have any info on it. I think it might have been made for a ATV.
