Similar situation here, I don't expect to get to this very soon, I'd just like to have the parts handy for when I do get to it.

My Honda Trail is a 2021 (JA55) so it has that 4-pin connector, while the newer JA65 has the new 6-pin Euro5 standard connector you will find across most brands of bikes in more recent years.
This is the plug I used on mine: https://japan.webike.net/products/24114662.html

The DLC wires are G/B, Bu, Y, B/W
I don't have it in front of me right now to check which pins that connector is using so you'd want to double check this, but my guess from the wiring diagram is that G/B is ground and B/W is positive (switched power), while blue and yellow are used for data (not used by that power adapter plug).
So I ordered this off eBay but dumb question - did the DLC connector possibly change from 2021 to 2022? Weblike only shows it compatible with the supercub and the pins don't match up.

The 2021-2022 USA Trail 125 (JA55) and 2019-2021 USA Super Cub 125 (JA48) have the same 4-pin DLC connector. For newer years both bikes were refreshed for Euro5 compliance and currently have a 6-pin DLC connector. If you bought that same Kitaco #756-1310900 it should fit a USA market JA55 same as it's plugged into mine.
Did you end up with 4 pins on each plug that you're trying to connect, and you're trying to plug it into the DLC connector which is located on top of the battery with a red cap on it, right?

You know what. I’m a complete idiot. I looked at the Dax connector and it wasn’t the same. I did not look at the trail connector bc I’d have to take my center rack and all the plastics off which is a complete pain. So I imagine it will work. Sorry to bother, I just got this all jumbled up in my head.

Here is another installation video, just posted. It has some good tips, and it shows that on the 2025 Japan market CT125, no accessory cable is required. All the wiring is already in the headlight bucket. The description field has this explanation: "We will introduce in detail how to install a clock and gear position meter on the 2025 model CT125 Hunter Cub (JA65). Electrical system customization, which has been a high hurdle until now, is now much easier to install on the 2025 model. "

I did get a chuckle when at 2:58 in the video, he condenses a one hour job (at least it took me one hour) of inserting the plastic keeper by editing out his struggle. I made the same edit in my video. The first clip ends without the keeper in place. The view of the keeper is blocked by his thumb, but it took more than fifty tries to get it in there.. after the required one hour of fumbling, he finally gets it in.. the transition between the first and second clip takes one second, but it covers one hour of work.. LOL There is a good tip at 5:52

While this new video is a Monkey 125 installation, and a 5-speed, it does give some help on some steps that would be appropriate for a Trail 125/CT125. When he changes the gear selector switch, I see five contacts besides neutral. I think the pattern is the same for the Japan and USA monkeys.. i.e. 1 down and 4 up, and I don't quite understand how the selector switch handles that, as if understand him right, the contact to the left of neutral is one, and then 2,3,4 and five go clockwise from there. The installation is a big job as he removes the fuel tank. The tank removal and the 5-speed discussion is irrelevant for the CT125/Trail 125. What is relevant are his tips on assembling the clock/gear indicator and mating it to the main meter. He also edits the struggle to insert the clip, to make it look easier than it is, but does show the trick, which is to use a needlenose pliers and tilt the clip down when inserting it. That is a good tip and it does work.
