I'm looking at buying 1 as a short to medium run around.
How happy are current or past owners ?
Thanks.

Very happy here, too!
There's a thread and poll that gives some more insight: https://hondatrail125.com/index.php?threads/what-do-you-think-of-the-bike-now.737/

I think it's important to make sure that your riding situation and expectations are aligned with the reality of what a 9 hp, 8 lb/ft, 125cc motorcycle is capable of. If it's enough motorcycle for what you need it to do, then you'll likely be very happy with it and surprised by how much FUN the little Trail is to ride.

I loved my kids Honda ruckus and Yamaha Zuma years ago. This is so much better you can ride it on the road in my area without getting run over from behind. And much more off road capable. Not a real dirt bike though. More road than dirt imo.

I love it, put 4500 miles on since may. It became my go to all summer.,I would look for reasons to ride. I agree, ride it for what it is and you will love it.

I had a Honda monkey a few years ago.
It was quite a lot of fun but very low and felt too low in traffic.
The ct125 is a bit higher.
Low speed won't be an issue for the intended riding type I'm looking at.

Super as long as you know it is happiest going 45 mph all day long and not much faster. You can get 60 going down a hill but will loose that going back up. Its a perfect back road, village commuter, dirt road explorer. I do a 7 mile grocery run ever week on roads that max speed is 50 mph with hills and its fully engaged maxing out at times. For faster or highways I got the CB500X and the Harley. Ohh you can take it with you too if your a mind....;)

The wife and I are really enjoying the CT's. As other have said, if you are expecting a punch off the line or any kind of top end, you are picking the wrong bike. I got mine for exploring small villages where the roads are narrow and unpaved and for that they are the perfect tool for the job!

Great fun for tooling around the neighborhood and a few dirt roads at 12-15mph

I ride my Ct125Abs Honda Trail around town for errands & pleasure along with exploring trails in search of Geocaches. Much of my riding is at speeds below 50 mph perfect for my needs. I enjoy being on a motorcycle that gets well over 100 mpg saving a pocketful of money on fuel and earning a comment from local petro station owner that he should “charge double” because it uses so little.
