OEM Heated Grips on 2023...snafu

Welp... Help! Seeing if anyone has a solution to the lack of the accessory plug. Pretty bummed as I got all of it sorted. I am hoping to find a sub harness to replace the one it included. I don't know jack about wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would rather not run this off the battery. Thanks, Jensen

There are plenty of videos and discussions that solve the problem of the missing blue connector in the headlight bucket on the USA wiring harness. They show how to hook up a USB charging port but the same technique would show you what to do for the grip heaters. I think, however, that Jensen is looking for the same thing as I am. A "Y" connector professionally manufactured that has a male and female brown connectors for passthrough for the brown connectors in the headlight bucket and the blue connector off to the the side for connection to the grip heaters, USB chargers, and so on. So far, I have been unable to find one, and I don't understand why Kitaco or Takegawa or anyone hasn't made a production one, as we have had the problem for three years now. If anyone has found one, please post a link.

You could buy a USB socket kit for your bike and make two simple wiring connections to splice it into that, but I would be cautions of the power draw for running the grip heaters and the gauge of wire those kits may use.

I'm someone who will often spend the money for a well integrated OEM accessory even if it's more expensive than aftermarket options. Without the accessory power plug, the Honda grip heaters aren't that. There are reports of the controller buttons breaking from folks in Japan who are running it on their CT125, which is consistent with that same style of generic looking Hondaline heated grip offering for older bikes. It sounds like you've already got them mounted, so getting your hands into some basic wiring may be your best route at this point, otherwise I'd recommend any aftermarket heated grips that connect directly to the battery with a power saver mode instead. Don't let wiring intimidate you. There are plenty of ways to make a connection where you're likely to find a method that seems preferable to you, and you can practice with some spare wire first.

id run a seperate, switched relay right off the battery. relay powered by key power, but main power to grips straight from battery. will take any unwanted load off the main harness.

Heated grips pull some power, I would go with the relay and pull directly from the battery.

Yeah. I got raynaud's. I am mid-hassle. Gloves would be sweet. It's all good. It is a solid first world problem. It is part of the hobby when you're an idiot, lol. I am stoked to have been able to remove the grips & throttle tube without damaging them.
