Oil change at 600 miles.
Next oil change every 4000 miles.
Most people add a Gold Plug since the bike does not have an oil filter.
MP-01 & 5 washer kit
Recommend installing a new washer.
I used Honda Synthetic 10W-30 on the first oil change and Castrol
5W-40 synthetic motorcycle oil from then on.

I run Castrol Acteveo semi-synthetic 10/40 in all of my other ATV's and small Moto's and small Honda generator. I'll probably run the same in my Trail. I used to run GN4 in everything then for reasons I honestly can't think of right now I switched to Actevo a few years ago. I buy it by the case once a year or so on Amazon.

My KTM's get Motorex which (as near as I can tell) is made from a mix of Unicorn tears and Dragon Mucus. It's pricey and hard to find but my 990 has run it since it was new, so it's smaller Brother, my Duke gets the same swill.

Price? it's about 8c per fl oz cheaper.
Possibly but if I recall it was because I could get the Actevo in Quart bottles, whereas the Honda dealer where I was buying my GN4 was only selling it in gallon jugs. Seems like a small thing I know but when you're dealing with small engines which only hold a quart or two of oil it annoyed me having to drain and measure into another container. My neighbor running an illegal Taco Stand out in front of his house doesn't annoy me but having to measure oil does LOL!

Plus I like the semi-synthetic nature of Actevo. Most of the engines I run it in are older, air-cooled engines which occasionally work hard. I think I've been running it now for the past five years or so and have yet to have any problems with it, though to be fair I never had any problems with GN4 either.

I've been on enough automotive/bike forums to know that when it comes to oil (and things related to oil like change intervals, etc,) everyone has an opinion. I say run what you like and never look-back!
