One very important reason I bought a Trail125 is that it has a kick starter. I hunt and fish in very remote areas. I had a battery go dead on me and I had a hell of a time jump starting my XT 250 on flat ground. My XT is the first bike I have ever owned with electric start. A 48 Harley, Triumph 650 Scrambler, and assorted enduros, all kickers.

That being said, if you DO have to use it, it's very easy to lazily kick it over without much effort. I would rate it as "any novice with enthusiasm would be able to do it easily, first try if they have a bit of instruction". I use mine all the time.
