I see many of the forum members have had many bikes over the years. Which bike did you own and sold but regret letting go the most?
For me it was my 2014 CB1100 Deluxe Vin # 17

@Zoomy7 the CB1100 is certainly a great sounding bike!

The bike I miss most is technically a scooter, a 1977 Piaggio Vespa Rally 200. To me it was the ultimate Vespa, a pairing of classic Italian style with a "large" 2-stroke motor that made it a blast to ride and practical in the states. As the scooter jokes go, picture yourself rolling near 70 mph on 10 inch wheels in the same position as sitting on a western toilet - terrifying! I have a lot of nostalgia for other bikes I've owned and sold, but the Rally 200 is probably the only one I'd actually want to buy back at current market value if the opportunity were there.

Not mine, but a photo of a slightly older Rally 200 for reference, same white with silver stripes as mine had.

The Honda CT125 is my first bike, and probably my last bike, that I'm really treating myself with. I owned two Ninja 250's, ZZR250 models from 2002-2004 - they're the sport touring version of the Ninja 250. Great bike, ok turning circle, somewhat difficult to handle for the weight class and the size.

Then I had a Gen 1 V-Strom DL650 with a lot of electrical issues, but not because of Suzuki - an ambitious previous owner. I rode that for 10k miles before selling it for my now-ex-wife as it was too expensive to keep. Renting parking spots in Seattle cost as much as $145 a month, so it was a pretty big pain point to spend 50% of the bike's value every year just to plonk it down in a parking space. Sometimes I could get that down to $50 a month by parking it in a part of the building no one could get a car into.

Now I only have the CT125, my dream of dreams from when I was a much younger man. I don't think I'll end up with another new motorcycle after this, it'd have to be something really special for me to do that.

I haven't owned them but under the family name was also a Harley Davidson Road King 2004, a Honda Shadow VT750C and a Honda CX500, the bike that started it all. Before those two were the Norton Model 50 and another Norton of a higher displacement but not a Commander, my Dad always wanted one of those but couldn't get one. The Model 50 was spooky, and we always joked I'd take my "big bike test" in Australia (250cc or above capacity) on that bike. It was spooky because the idle RPM was 240 RPM, and the engine is a 4 stroke, so you can actually hear the swish-bang-swish-bang of the cycles.

The engineering of the CB1100 just amazed me. Such a great machine and got so many looks and comments.

My first bike started as a farm bike that was in really poor shape. (Picture #1) I spent 4 months of evenings and weekends rebuilding it top to bottom and made it into a cafe style CL450 (Picture #2).
It was a fun project but was problematic as I discovered it had been run on one cylinder on the farm for along time and I struggled to get it to run right from one ride to the next. Eventually sold it and moved onto a Triumph Tiger 955 which was fantastic. The CB1100 followed that and then a 2018 Africa Twin Adventure sport DCT. Another brilliant Honda but too heavy for my 160lbs weight.0D2CFACD-EB89-4445-BDE3-82A9D381E1B2.jpeg30F8A629-6541-4EC6-A615-AD299A93753E.jpeg86B8C5D5-483C-45CE-B4B6-91D26C372E17.jpeg05EF34F4-7704-465B-8EA9-E7439D6A6DCE.jpeg

Have 10 licensed bikes right now.
Including this one, it was on display at the local Yamaha dealership for years but he went out for business recently, so it's in my son's basement man cave now. I'd sell it but he wants it so I guess he'll inherit it someday. 20200818_092204.jpg20201103_105746.jpg
Kind of rare bike only imported for two years and didn't sell well then. Completely original unmolested 10000 miles. The tires and fork seals have been replaced, everything else is as it was when it left the factory. Has a rare Yamaha seat cowl and the cleaning instruction sticker is still on the windscreen.
(And yes, the sign is wrong, the dealer's daughter did that, it's not an 86 but an 85)
