Finally got my new toy a few weeks ago. In waiting the obligatory (enter painful time-frame here) months for this bike, my accessories arrived... So my last few weeks spare times been spent fitting bits.

Some of the body work is still loose as I will need to remove it again.

I've mostly done with the externals now, have some internal mods still and wiring to get those LED's to hook up. Also some fog lights coming.

More to come.

Very cool I love the new headlights! Did you paint the panels yourself? I'm thinking about taking a rattle can to my exhaust shield but I've never been particularly skilled at painting. Would appreciate any additional info/tips if you have any.

Soliminal,

Sorry for taking so long to reply.

The new headlights have been a headache to get running as Iwanted them to work via the stock dimmer switch. I tried hooking them up via a relay and whilst this is probably the correct way I just couldn't make the relay 'switch' so had to run without one.

I used this loom, credit and many thanks to another forum member for finding it - https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255801172036953.html - Cut off the female end close to the plug as possible.

For a high/low light (halo style for example) connect as follows -

From the loom side, connect together the brown/white (rectifier) and white/blue (to dimmer switch) - this sends power to the hi/lo dimmer switch on the handlebar.
White wire from the loom (lo) to the lo wire on your led (typically a yellow wire).
From the loom, connect together the yellow/white (hi) and blue (hi beam A on speedometer) to hi on your led (typically a red wire). Hi beam will trigger the blue light on the speedometer.
From the loom, white/green (rectifier via the speedometer) to negative on the LED (typically a black wire).

This setup will turn the lights on when the bike is running and should work for any hi/lo LED lighting or even separate LED's running as Hi/Lo. When switching to hi beam, lo will turn OFF.

Two wires on the loom are not used, black (12v positive) and green (ground). They're a different polarity but could be used to connect separate day time running lights to come on with the ignition key and won't be effected by the dimmer switch. The could be used for any device like a USB but am not 100% sure as it's only a 10 amp fuse. That's a future mod for me, so I'll post back with results.

Painting was a breeze, I used this bed-liner -

I did a good deal of research before choosing this brand. Many YouTube videos on the subject and this one met my needs. I'm not a great sprayer and application was laughably easy. I simply cannot recommend it enough. I used 3 cans, 2 would have done it. The finish was too glossy so applied a finish coat of flat-black plastic and couldn't be happier.

I hope this helps. Sorry if the wiring details are confusing. If you have the Honda service manual it shouldn't be too hard to follow. When I have time, I'll draw a schematic.

Best of luck

Paul.
