Rear Shocks

The bikes load limit is 265lbs, I weigh 200lbs and I would like to have my wife as a passenger for going from the campground to the store/restaurant/etc. I am thinking a beefier set of rear shocks should allow her to be on the bike. Just seems daunting to pick a pair. Any suggestions would be most welcome. What have you all done?

YSS, Gears, and Ohlins are just some of the adjustable rear suspension options. The YSS without remote reservoir seem like they may be the more popular choice. I have the Ohlins ones and they're very spendy but have been great. I'm not riding 2 up though so can't comment on that.

You can find some CT125 + YSS content on YouTube such as install videos and reviews.

Love that one of my posts was tagged- appreciate that!

The YSS basic shocks have done justice along with the chimera caps in the front. Seems to be one of the cheapest ways to firm up the bike and make it more comfortable for a 200lb person.

Only passenger I’m planning to put on it is my small Aussie, though.

I used the 2nd post's recommendation from m in sc, saying it was like it was made for the bike sold it for me. Got black instead of silver. I wrote a post on my install if you want to see what's involved.

Got my new shocks on , ride is much better and very noticeable improvement soon as I saddled up. My local railroad crossing was uneventful when I crossed it at 15mph, the shocks ate the bumps and no noticeable rebound and the Chimera fork caps round out the suspension quite well. Many Thanks to the members that aided in shock selection and installation tips. The bike feels solid now, the stock suspension was like slinky springs compared to now.
