Went with the Webike kit. IMPORTANT - They only tell you in the fine print that you need another piece to mount it on - "Sub Tank Kit." It's well made.

I’m jealous. Those seem impossible to come by.
Webike sells them...except you need to have the mount that attaches to the rack/tail light...both combined will be well north of $300...
I meant the fuel container, not bracket. Everywhere I looked I saw out of stock and discontinued. I’m not seeing it on Webike. I ended up going another route after searching (including Japan eBay). But I think the old school one is neat.

I’m going to wrap this in a white rag and strap it to my front rack:
That’s much more fiscally responsible than my $$$ totally unneeded Japanese option. But I guess I could say the same about this bike :) I like that bottle. I think I’ll pick one up.

The tank is till being made. I paid $ 100 for mine 1 year ago, That came with no hose, no cap, not seal for cap. All bought separately.
The last complete set Ive seen online/ Ebay was in mint condition/ with key and close to $400 mark.
As for mount. I just cut a single mount from some stiff diamond plate I had laying around and hung it straight on the old tool box mount.

Itchy Boots had one of the flexible ones on her South Afrcan series and was distinctly unimpressed with it’s everyday practicality. She quoted leakage, handling and transfer issues and plumped for a bike with more tankage for her Tierra del Fuego to Alaska journey

I use 3 different 'extra gas tanks' for my bikes. I have a Desert Fox 6l and a Desert Fox 3l, both of which are bombproof. These I use mostly on my 790R. For Little Red Donkey I have used the 3l, however, I find using 2 1.5 l Primus bottle are more convenient and easier to place/balance on the bike. I also have a 1 gal Rotopax, however, have yet to find a need for it. Maybe on the SCR I'll take it.

As far as fuel bladders, like the Desert Fox. The idea is to run the bike until you use the 6 liters and empty the fuel into the tank. The point is you are removing weight from up high to down low. They are also extremely easy to strap on the bike in multiple places...unlike hard gas containers.

I have been watching this thread for a while. Someone else mentioned the MSR fuel cans. Two of these strapped to a center rack on the bike gave me plenty of range. I used rubber bicycle straps to hold them in place.

My test run on the stock fuel tank got me 130+- miles before the bike started to sputter (pavement). With these two the range is beyond what is needed even when off pavement.

I’d splurge for the $350 setup but can’t get myself to do it.

Where did you get the straps you have holding the fuel bottles?

Now I have to figure out which Rotopax locking mount fits.
Several on Amazon.
Then which side mounting plate to buy.
Several on WEBIKE.
Please help me with part numbers.

I like that setup, have a few similar bottles myself, but mount them via a fire extinguisher holder with a quick disconnect (for another bike). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MW24JL7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
