QuickFist is pretty good. If you have something perfectly cylindrical mounted in them, make sure to check it daily – it can rotate and it can slide through the mount, gradually, especially on rougher roads.

I’ve just been running a 3L jerry on the centre rack. Keeps the weight low and good to grab with one’s knees when standing off road.
Has worked a treat.

I like this - especially for having something to grab with the knees. The bottles I use are a tad to low to do that with.

I tried one of the Amazon fuel bottles and the seal on the cap became compromised after only a few days with gas in it. Skip it.

That's an important thing to look out for. Even Rotopax and Primus gaskets go bad over time. Both sell replacement gaskets. Primus even sent me a replacement gasket (and cap!) for free just because I emailed them asking which one to buy to fit my 1L bottle.

Aaargh. I tried to refuel my brand new Honda Trail 125 using the spout included with the ROTOPAX
1 gallon container. Spout looks simple enough. Twist to pour. twisted. Nothing happens. No pour.
Amazon won't let me return a used gas container.
$75 for a "premium" gas can that has a non pouring spout.
I ended up pouring gas thru a plastic funnel and then wiping up a lot of spilled gas.
Anyone have a similar issue with the lousy spout?
My spout has a red turn thing - the video has a green thing.

Ok, so the Rotopax spout got the better of me for a solid 5 minutes until I figured it out myself.

1. Install the spout.
2. Turn the lock ring.
3. Press the end against the cross bar at the fill port for the CT125 and hold it there. The pressure will open the spring loaded valve.
4. When you want to stop filling, lift the end of the spout off the cross bar at the fill port for the CT125. This will return it to the locked position.

EDIT: Video of mine, with the red spout lockring.

If you don't press it against the cross brace inside the fill port, no fuel will flow. Biggest downside is that it fills rather slowly.

There are also aftermarket options, I don't know if this is the exact one I use but it looks the same. I get the point of the safety nozzles, but I still don't want to deal with them, I just want to easily transfer gas from one tank to another. The flex hose and vent on this type of nozzle make it do just that.

2022 Trail…1970’s Auxiliary tank! I’ve had this tank for decades from my uncle’s late 70’s trail. Was barely used, all original and complete. Just a new decal added. It’s perfect in my eyes!

I junked mine straight away and got normal spouts.

Grrr. I hate this spout! I twisted and pushed down on the red thing on the spout and still
no gas came out. I got the spout stuck in the gas tank. So I used the Gatorade bottle as
a funnel and spilled a bit. Then when replacing the cap, I discovered that I had not
removed the red end cap plug from the spout. (groan)

Hey guys and gals, how many of yall are riding daily? And how many ride with aux fuel day to day? I use my 125 as a daily commuter to work and around town. I'm making 100miles to the gallon, but I'd still prefer a" safety net" for fuel.
I'd LOVE a OEM aux tank, but the roto pax is more cost effective.

Thoughts?

I only carry a jerrycan when touring (>100 mile trips) and even then I only carry 1L (>20 miles) unless I know I'm going somewhere VERY remote. This bike gets great mileage, there's no shortage of gas stations by me and in the surrounding regions, and I try never to let my tank drop below a quarter which is plenty of buffer.

I’ve been getting about 120 mpg on my weekly commutes here in Los Angeles. My auxiliary tank is original 1970’s and purely for appearance and the original look for these Trails. It’s ready to put gas in if needed and that’s it folks!

Did you already have the aux tank, or buy it somewhere? Most I've seen go for $300+ if they're in usable condition which is why I went with something else.

Read my first post above. I’ve had mine from my uncles original Trail. Not sure about $300. Maybe a dented, rusted one. Usually well over $450+ for great starter ones. Hopefully with the original bracket and helmet holder.
