Just bought a 2025 Trail 125 (CT 125). Any recommendations for adding a secure/lockable/weatherproof “box” to the factory tail rack to hold tools, rain gear, etc.?
I put a Pelican-like box on the back of my KLR650 that worked well, but I haven’t found something that fits the tail rack of this 125.
Thanks,
JB

When you say secure do you mean a lockable box? Or just something sturdy?
I have this 45L hard case that is waterproof, and you can lock the lid and lock the box to the mounting plate that attaches to the bike. Had no issues with it on my 550 mile trip and i leave it on my bike when I offroad it regularly, no issues. Its super handy. You can get a 55L but I wanted extra space between the box and grab bar to put tents and other gear.

Yes, lockable. That box would be ideal. Thanks

I have a 22l top case. Lockable and perfect size for carrying camping supplies, tools, small groceries, etc

I just installed mine the other day. 56 Liters. It fits the back rack perfectly. Looks like it was made for the bike.

Super easy - the mounting rack holes matched up with the threaded holes in the CT rear rack.

I did use some higher grade bolts for the mounting rack that I had lying around. The ones that came with it didn't want to thread in.

I went through quite a few crate and top case trials before landing on a big plastic box.
