rode bike around quite a bit running errands, even went urban off road because of construction, and i just went around to avoid traffic throught eh build site, etc.. def. helps w the shifting. also the shocks did extremely well. was hauling 7 qts break in oil, 1 gallon of carb cleaner dip, 2 cans of carb spray in rack, and about 10 feet of fuel and vacuum line (car project).

I installed the shift support today. I was a little sceptical this would make a lot of difference. But I was wrong. It really makes the gear shift crisp. Seems like the shifters location it’s self is right out on the end of the shaft. ( actually overhangs the end of the shift shaft) You have to locate it there to allow the fixing bolt to locate in the groove on the shaft.
So in my view this is a cheap and very good mod.

Did you notice a slight increase in shaft size where this is positioned ? I tried the part from Steady Garage and it didn't fit because the shaft got slightly bigger about 2" in

My shifter shaft had a tiny lip about 1/2 way down. I could feel it with my fingernail but just barely. The HardRacing part has a tight clearance, maybe just a couple thousandths of an inch ('thou'). Rather than pound the support bushing onto the shaft I opened it up about .002" and it fit perfectly. OK, I do have a lathe. The support really does crisp up the shifting, amazing.

The Hard Racing part looks like it has roller bearings ?

Yes, the HR part has roller bearings on a sleeve that is bored out to be a tight fit on the shift shaft. The sleeve has a lip on one side and is removable. I called HR to talk about my issue before I started removing metal. They told me that they have sold 3,000 of these kits for Groms without a problem. Although the engines appear to be identical between Grom and CT125 he thought there might possibly be a difference due to the semi auto tranny. I think my issue was more of a case of the factory machining my shaft with a tiny imperfection. Nobody else seems to be having a problem fitting these kits to the CT125. It's a super easy install.
