Wasn't there some difference between a trials version and a non-trials version? The trials version is what his buddy was running and they were wearing down significantly faster or so I recall.he was running the stock IRC tires until the day day of 3 flats, then a kind stranger gave him a set of Shinko 241's if i'm not mistaken.
Anyone running the 244 in the 2.5" size? Can't decide between these and the 241s in 2.75
I will definitly go with the 244s though.I am waiting for the answer as well. I am thinking same tires.
Does anyone have these Vee rubber tires mounted? I bought the Kendas but may want to swap for these before the bike comes. Not in the US market, and probably not elsewhere.
244 Series Dual Sport Tire
The 244 Series dual purpose street and trail tire is designed to be equally at home on dirt or pavement.shinkotireusa.com
The Vee Rubber VRM-022 comes in 2.75-17 with a similar but more offroad aggressive tread, a few USA websites have them for sale.
If you search CT125 VRM022 on YouTube you'll find some folks running them. "A Retired Okie Living in Thailand" has a few videos talking about the tires on there. IMO give the OEM tires a good try past the engine break-in period before you swap them out, that way you can at least run the bike up to top speed on pavement and have an idea of baseline performance of the bike before putting on knobbies that are going to slow it down a little.Does anyone have these Vee rubber tires mounted?
