That box will be great!, I use a cheap rubber door mat under my box, works really good.
Great idea. Will pick some up today. I have to mount the box to the plate and the plate to the rack. Ideally, I can figure out how to use the existing four threaded bolt holes in the rack. We'll see.

I like this EMGO helmet trunk ($65)...it's lockable, water proof, quick detach with one button and has a carrying handle... :)

Do you like that windshield? Deflect much?

I am trying to devise a method to make it somewhat secure.
I went with the big ant as well. I just drilled a couple of holes in an old license plate that matched up with two of the tapped holes in the rack and ran some bolts thru the plate and the crate and into the rack.

Ah, sorry I should have been more clear. It's tied down pretty good with some heavy duty zip ties, I can lift up the bike from the crate. I want to be able to lock it up. I wouldn't leave anything valuable in it but would like to prevent the thefts of opportunity. I've seen a few people make a lid with a cabinet lock.

I have a milk crate box attached to my rack with a stretchy cord net over over it. Works great for me and I can lean back on it.

What I went with. Posted elsewhere but this thread is more specific on crates. Milwaukee Pack-out system with base-plate and crate. Have since removed wooden snap-on top and put backrest onto crate itself with bungees crossed over top. Wood top pushed me a little to far forward even with handlebars set forward and upright. Crate snaps in and out with a one-button release allowing me to put the big tool box on if I want more volume and waterproof enclosure. This is the everyday configuration. Max pack out would be with toolbox, crate and wood top on it. All snap together. Cannot ever see a circumstance to do that as CG shift might make rear end squirrely? But bike is designed to carry rear passenger so it would be like that Id guess.CT125allmods1.jpg
