I used the universal mounting plate from givi. It was an additional 65$ ish dollar purchase, and then I installed that to the stock luggage rack. I went 50/50, using included givi hardware to hold it at two points on the luggage rack., and some stainless steel fasteners from the hardware store for the other two mount points (which were the factory weld nuts on the rack in the first place). I also put some big rubber washers in between to dampen any rattling that may occur. After that I just dropped the outback 42L on and I was good to go.For those of you with the Givi Trekker Outbacks, what mounting hardware did you use with it, and were any modifications needed? Looking to upgrade from my folding crate to a sealed, locking, and quick-release top box. Thanks!
Thanks! I ended up finding enough posts and videos of CT125s in Japan on YouTube and Twitter with the 42L and 58L to piece together that the universal plate is what's commonly used. How are you liking the 42L? I'm on the fence between it and the 58L.I used the universal mounting plate from givi. I’ll edit this post with a picture tomorrow to explain it better.
I use it for carrying riding gear and lunches n stuff when I commute to work (warm when I ride in, cold when I leave). If I put my full face helmet in it, then I can’t fit my heavy riding jacket in there with it, so if you want to put a full set of riding gear (pants gloves jacket helmet) in the back, you probably want the 58L.Thanks! I have the small. It has worked well for meFor those using the Bigant crate, did you use the small or medium size? Small is 16x12x10 and medium is 21x14x12
That looks perfect. What model is it?This is working for me for smaller trips. I have a larger Drybag for over nights. Fits a helmet as well.
I like your kit!
