Added an old military bag to the front of my rack box, works great for small items and a towel and is a nice back rest!

I like the Milwaukee crate because it’s rigid and enclosed but also drains. I strap all kinds of things to it.

I've been searching for a nice old wood crate of the right size, but haven't found it. I got this yesterday, these were nailed together probably during the Reagan administration, used as a set of shelves in a store (there was a third, and it was set up vertically). It's a little big, but I like the division so I can put my bag on one side, and put my helmet down in the other when I get to work. I'll keep looking but this is a pretty good solution "for now" (acknowledging that sometimes 'for now' turns into a decade).

For those of you with the Givi Trekker Outbacks, what mounting hardware did you use with it, and were any modifications needed? Looking to upgrade from my folding crate to a sealed, locking, and quick-release top box. Thanks!

a ridge overlooking Lake Guntersville, AL.
I am having erector set fun with all the combinations of the Milwaukee Packout components. Just got a cooler, utility bag and medium size tool box to add to my large tool box and crates inventory. He are a few pictures of them assembled in different configurations across the two LRDs I have. All full size hard tool boxes have female grid on top like base plate. All items have male lugs with release latch on bottom including half size items like the cooler and utility bag. Going to have to buy the new base plate dolly to put all the unmounted items on so I can stack and move around as a rolling tower. Picture of that later, but this system is so neat, albeit expensive compared to my lifted milk crates from behind the Dairy Queen back in my college days in the late '60's. Yes they are still very serviceable and resilient. Antiques actually, I was using to haul lead SCUBA weights around in as the keep the lead from marring the boat bottom and are impervious to water. A intact one will be one of the treasures from our land fills a thousand years from now I'd bet.

I used the universal mounting plate from givi. It was an additional 65$ ish dollar purchase, and then I installed that to the stock luggage rack. I went 50/50, using included givi hardware to hold it at two points on the luggage rack., and some stainless steel fasteners from the hardware store for the other two mount points (which were the factory weld nuts on the rack in the first place). I also put some big rubber washers in between to dampen any rattling that may occur. After that I just dropped the outback 42L on and I was good to go.
I’ll edit this post with a picture tomorrow to explain it better.

Thanks! I ended up finding enough posts and videos of CT125s in Japan on YouTube and Twitter with the 42L and 58L to piece together that the universal plate is what's commonly used. How are you liking the 42L? I'm on the fence between it and the 58L.

I use it for carrying riding gear and lunches n stuff when I commute to work (warm when I ride in, cold when I leave). If I put my full face helmet in it, then I can’t fit my heavy riding jacket in there with it, so if you want to put a full set of riding gear (pants gloves jacket helmet) in the back, you probably want the 58L.
