Back home! Big lap of Australia complete!

16,000km in 8 weeks on a Honda CT125 2021 model at the age of 75!

Met some amazing and interesting people on my trip. I must have the most photographed CT125 in Australia. People never stopped asking about my story and why this bike. The bike never missed a beat and has returned home without a single scratch!

I had no idea what it was going to be like before I headed off on this adventure but I enjoyed every minute!

I'd like to thank all the people in this group who liked and commented on my posts - you've all been part of this trip too and it's been great to interact with you all. Look forward to following your adventures now.

What a journey! And no mechanical issues with the bike? I have been on this site less than a month and I need to go back and read your entire thread from start to finish. You are an inspiration for me, and for all those seniors who don't want to "act their age". Good on you!

Ok, so my list of questions now that you're done:
1) Any mechanical advice to give after doing that many miles?
2) How many rear tires did you go through? I'm guessing 2 if they were SR244's. I got really impressive mileage out of mine.
3) How much fuel did you consume total on your 16k km trip? Reckon that's gotta be in the 350 L range or so.
4) Favourite food to eat while on the road?
5) What was the most common food you ate while on the road?
6) Any big surprises, or if not, what was the most significant thing?
7) Any notable wildlife encounters?
8) Best art you saw the entire trip?
9) Did you go to 80 mi beach?
10) First thing you'll do to the bike now that you're back (besides possibly washing it)?
11) First thing you'll do that's not motorcycle related now that you're back?
12) If you could speak to past you, let's say... 1 month before you leave. Enough time to adjust ideas, plans or the bike. What would you tell that person?
13) what is your favourite photo from the entire trip?
14) Hottest and coldest temperature encountered on the ride?

Hi i sold my bike to a bloke who had his ct125 stolen a week after getting home .Anyway i have just got another Red 2021 ct125 3200 kms i never checked this forum after i got home so i must apologise for not replying to your message.
So i will try to answer some of you questions.
1) I never had any mechanical problems so just keep checking and changing oil and tires.
2) I had to replace 3 rear and 2 front had to get any tires that were available because of remote areas.
3) Never kept count of litres but spent about AU $900 dollars.
4) Cooked breakfast mostly at service stations
5) A lot of meat pies.
6) No surprises just the amount of interest in what i was doing especially what i was doing it on.
7) None thankfully.
8) Not much there is a wall art photo of a Drover and his Dog.
9) No it was late in the day so i stayed on main road and stayed at Fire Place.
