I started watching the series when I saw one of the episodes (I think it was ep 3) has his wheel off with a very obvious flat tire. Dude's a magnet for flat tires. I hope he's getting them all so the rest of us don't.

If I recall correctly, in the TAT series he stops getting flats once he puts the Shinko 44 on the rear. After that he's good, until this series. I haven't watched far enough to see if he does any forensic analysis on the tube the see where the hole was, as it is really curious that it went flat suddenly when it wasn't even moving. Makes me suspect a valve stem hole or spoke poke abrasion over time.

He got them all on the same day iirc, which also points to more like... rider error, or systematic error, rather than opportunistic errors like a nail on the road. May he be a cautionary tale to the rest of us to learn how to change a flat!

Or get rid of the tubes …

That helps, but getting rid of tubes doesn't mean you don't get flats. You just get different kinds of flats that you have to fix a different way.

Quite correct - fingers crossed, but my now tubeless CT wheels have yet to be punctured. On previous tubeless bikes it has proved a fairly quick and easy task to plug tyres rather than remove them to extract and fix a tube. Slower tyre deflation time is also a benefit in the tubeless instance

I'm yet to see a tubeless fix that was slower than a tubed fix across both bicycle and motorcycle. Simpler depended on the vehicle, but definitely not faster, because the ultimate fix for tubeless tires is to put a tube in it 😂
