Spark arrestor/oil consumption

As I continue to do some maintenance on cubby, on removing the spark arrestor I'm seeing a lot of oil kind of sticky carbon mix.
I've tried a quick gas cleaning with a wire brush but that really doesn't do it, I've also tried alcohol and a bit of brake clean usually that'll clean anything but not so.
I've been noticing burning oil smell when running and and I recognize a engine with cylinder/ ring issues.
Does anybody else notice that issue with the 17k engine? She has always used a bit of oil since day 1.IMG20260706133752.jpgIMG20260706133810.jpg
I've also thought about removing the arrestor screen as well, I already have a complete de- cat but living in a wooded area I've kinda avoided doing it to now.
Any opinions?

If the Harley guys can run straight pipes popping flames like dragons through the national forests by the thousands you should be fine. IMO.

There was a few videos on youtube where they said no major difference in performance with or without spark arrestor. A little louder without. One guy claimed he lost a mph or 2 top speed, the other said same speed.
You could try cleaning with kerosene or just burn the oil off with a torch. I believe the manual calls for 6k mile intervals to clean spark arrestor.

I personally would clean it and put it back in. I think Honda charges $250 or something crazy to replace.

The torch is a good idea.
I decided to scope the cylinder and it's not the best.
A lot of scoring kinda like I'm used to seeing in the Diesel's that had a bad injector and fuel wash, or dirt down the intake.
I've checked the air intake and filter thinking my DNA filter let me down, but it's very clean.
I'm starting to think my intake and exhaust mods are making it too lean..
So I think me bad...🥴 My afr mini 3 has always been 12 - 13.5 but maybe it's just a reference more than a reality.
In looking online I see that the grom guys are running a 120cc injector for the mods that I've done.
But for now, I've cut the screen off just because I don't want it to coke up with oil. I can always weld it back on . She still runs very nice.
But I'm thinking about getting the 142 BBK kit out, it's been sitting on the shelf for a year.
I always appreciate the input thank you.
